Nice!! I should copy your idea instead if waiting for my Undependable buddies!
Also I believe you're right about the foam. Foam is only needed for tanks without trims. Tanks with trims sit directly on its stand and all the weight of the entire content of the tank is supported by the edges.
I admit I was nervous. However it went up without a hitch.
John from Your Reef, where I purchased it, said to put 1/4" foam under it.
I don't plan to cover the stand so maybe I could use a black yoga type mat, cut into 1 1/2" strips?
Guess I will need to bring the lifts back in :headwallblue:
Also note that the 4 straps that lifted it went around the center braces. I measured the compression as I lifted it and got at most 1/16".
is floor and tank level? My house has a concrete slab too and floor isn't level![]()
Nice looking tank!
This^^ Great service! Way to step up!I will have it fixed or re made it shouldn't have any bow to it most likely the tubing had a slight bend in it from PDM steel Co. and the welder or myself didn't catch it.
Sorry about that I'm glad you didn't fill it up and then find out.
It looks like your overflow is a center overflow on the back wall. It also looks like you have one center brace on stand.
If you are going to remake the stand, I would suggest you not put that brace under the overflow, but rather two braces, one on either side of the overflow. It will make plumbing the bulkheads that much easier if you don't have to worry about a steel brace running through the middle.
