Need a quick asnwer to this before i do it. I want to know if it's ok to use the pump to dose kalkwasser for my topoff rather than the regular ro/di? Any suggestion?
Depending on how much kalk you got settling on the bottom - place your pump on some sort of shelf above it. The problem is when you stir up your kalk (ala a kalk type reactor set up), and if your pump turns on at the same time you could get sediment in your pump. That will shorten the life and replacements seem to be a bit hard to get. You could just plumb the pump output line through another bottle full of kalk mixture but then you have another device \ jug to take care of.
I plan on keeping the pump elevated to avoid the slurry. So it will only get the liquid. Also it's more an experiment so i don't have a reactor for it. I will manually stir it for now and let it settle while the pump will remain off during this time. After it becomes clear again i will turn it back on. I tried my spare pump but it was DOA so to the garbage it went. I'll probably order another pump just in case. Thanks.
