Can pocillopora touch pocillopora?

I have a purple pocillopora and a green pocillopora and I'd like to let them grow together, like with birdsnest. Anyone ever try this?

I had a green and purple stylophora grow together without any problem.

If you can see the two colonies in the pic they were actually touching and growing on the same rock and grew right into each other. Not completely sure about pocillopra but they might be ok, you sure you dont have stylophoras they look very similar.
