Can ProBioF raise nitrates?

I recently began using the Aquaforest product line in my already established SPS tank. I decided to use ProBioS in conjunction with ProBioF. Over the past couple of days my nitrates have begun to rise. I was wondering if ProBioF could be raising my nitrates since it is a growth medium for nitrifying bacteria. Any information would be greatly appreciated since I want to bring my nitrates down to undetectable levels.

It is not possible...

Pro Bio F is very strong to reduce Nitrate and Phophate.
Didi You Try to use -NP Pro?

No I have not yet tried the -NP Pro. I am waiting for my local fish store to get it in stock. Is it possible that one of the coral products could be raising my nitrates?

As We wrote in Your Thread: We recommend to start from the mid-dose of each additive and observe corals appearance.

Maybe try to dose half dose every products for start.

I apologize I forgot to mention that I was at a half dose for all of the products until I get a feel for how they effect my system. How long does the bacterial population take to establish itself? Maybe it hasn't reached its peak yet?

What was your previous methode to reduce NO3 and PO4?
Did You you disable it completely?
Every methode need time to works - You can dose normal dose in Your tank if nitrate is growing.

My previous method was my skimmer and a refugium. Neither method was disabled; I only did a little pruning of my macroalgae in the refugium. And yes I completely understand that everything takes time to work, I was just wondering if there was an estimate so I could keep an eye on everything. Are there any signs of an overdose that I need to watch out for in regards to any of the bacterial supplements?

Is it possible that one of the products could be creating a false positive on the nitrate test? I am having the same problem as nitrates are testing off the charts on Salifert test

What other products are you using?

I just started the system last weekend, so two water changes and 7 days dosing on NP Pro, Pro Bio S and one day of Pro Bio F.

My No3 was at 4ppm last weekend, I did dose it to that level or it's undetectable, but I haven't dosed it in over a week and as of last night my No3 was zero. I'm testing with the RedSea Pro, which seems very accurate.

ProBioS, NP Pro, Coral E, Micro E, Component B

Literally Salifert is showing 50-100 Nitrates. I was at 2 before the AF system.

Colors look incredible though, so thats why I think it is a false positive. There are some others experiencing the same thing as well.

This is interesting, I've read chatter of "off the charts nitrate" among the AF users on the board as of late. So far, all the reports I have come across have been using Salifert test kits. I have been using the Red Sea Pro Nitrate test and read 0.5 ppm yesterday morning. I have been curious, so just now I did a test using a Salifert kit. I'll note that the kit is brand new (just opened it today), and has the new color chart in it. I just tested NO3 right around 1 ppm. I haven't been using the AF products long though, and I'm not using the complete line (I've subbed in replacements for Coral A, Coral B, and Coral Food until I've used them up, and I'm not using NP Pro since my nutrients are so low). If NP Pro is anything like Zeovit Start, then it may have nitrate in it since Zeovit Start adds about 1-2 ppm per day IIRC (to help keep phosphate down) - certainly not enough to give readings of 50+ ppm!

Agreed, just weird what is going on. Colors are good . Take a look at my thread in my signature. I also have no detectable phosphate which is why I don't believe the test

I've only been using Coral E and Coral V for a week, but I've been using ProBioS for 6 weeks, so really the only thing I can anecdotally suggest is that ProBioS is probably not causing the nitrate readings. I know OP is asking about ProBioF, and I've not used it at all.

I wonder which test kit Debora is using? I'll go hunt around and see if I can find out.

BrandonMc2011, which other AF products are you using besides ProBioS and ProBioF?

I'll add my experience. I've been dosing NP Pro and Pro Bio S in my tank since February 8. For all but two weeks of that period I dose at 2/3 the recommended rate (10 drops per day instead of 15). I test with the Salifert test. When I started my Nitrates hovered around 2-4. Since then, they have increased but very slightly, to 5 or so.
So I can't report any increased nitrates due to the AF products.

Also, since then I have gone through two large buckets of the Probiotic Reef salt and one bucket of the regular reef salt. I've not used any other AF products.
