Can Red Sea's Nopox be used with Chaeto?

Hello,

I have chateomorpha in my refugium and it is growing nicely. It keeps my phosphates near 0. My nitrates are somewhere between 5 and 15. I can't really tell. Can you dose Nopox while having a refugium? I want to keep the refugium running and don't want to kill the algae. Considering my PO4 is low and referring to the Redfield Ratio, will Nopox have any affect on my nitrates at all?

i dont think that your nitrates are really that high...if it aint broke kinda theory

I'm just wanting them lower to really encourage color coloration. I've following Red Sea's color enhancement program. They recommend 0.25-1 ppm Nitrate.

It is no problem using nopox with chaeto. I’ve done it several times to deal with nutrient spikes.

Plenty of people carbon dose with macro algae.

Growth will slow as nutrients decrease.

I would assume I just don't want nutrients to go too low correct? Otherwise I'm sure I'll probably kill the algae.

At that point would it really matter even if it did?
