can i place rics on a BB tank or do they need sand, i just ordered 30 rics and they won all fit on the rock ( its a small 3G tank)

wow, 30 mushrooms in a 3 gal ? system overload, IMO, the mushroom would be better when u place them on top of sand, if u place them in BB tank they will float around be cause of the current, they have nothing to hold on to,.... that;s just my opinion

I have had them attatch to the bottom of my acrylic frag tank. No sand or rock in there. But they do usually just end up floating around if you have any decent flow in the tank.

30 rics in a 3 gallon ???? you'll have to be religous about water care/changing and params or they will not last long.
Good luck as I have seen it done but the guy was cyco about his water

its just a hodling tank until the 54 is set up altough i will probably leave 1 or 2 in there w/ the goby. so they attach to the glass?

I Dont know for sure that they will attach well but it will be better than sand. For what I hear putting Ricordea directly on the sand bed encourages infection. Your best option would be to put rock rubble or small rocks on the bottom of the tank.
