Can someone help me word this correctly?

I got an infraction in April when I posted out looking for Berghia. Not only was I 'infracted', but so was a second person who chimed in that he was looking as well, and the person who responded who happened to have berghia to sell.

I have been a member since 2010, with 692 posts. Reduced tank numbers down to a single 125, still up and operational, and doing fine. Not many reasons to post here in the last year, so I haven't been around much.

I am looking to do a 29g set up for a mantis shrimp. I am NOT, I repeat NOT trying to sell anything.

How can I word what it is I am looking for without getting anyone in trouble?

RC doesn't allow the sale of items that can be bred as a business, like berghias and phytoplankton etc. Regular used items, tanks, filters, etc can be bought and sold by anyone who has surpassed the 50/90 rule. You can post away looking for equipment and other livestock, just not organisms deemed bred for business.

I didn't ask for berghia to breed, I wanted them to treat an aptasia infestation. Also, confused: Can't ANY livestock of any kind be potential breeding stock? Ergo, if I am understanding your response, no livestock, animal or vegetable can be listed, lest it be obtained by a person aiming to breed?

Indeed. You could try asking if anyone knows of a LFS that carries them. I figure that would be OK since I know I've seen that asked before. At your own risk though. I tried the berghias to quell an aptasia infestation and despite multiple applications they never seemed to have an effect. Best of luck though, I know that some have used them with success.

Let me start with a little clarification, it may not mean much to you, but we see the difference as a fairly significant one.
You said that you got an infraction, but what you posted is a simple warning, Had it been an infraction message, it would have said "If you'd like more information about the details of your infraction, please let me know" suggesting that a PM or email to the Mod that contacted you would help answer your questions. Not to mention there would have been a point value assigned had it been an infraction. Either way, I'm going to recommend that same course of action in this warning case. While I see that you've gotten a response here, and some of it has been pretty well informed, there are options that would get you answers, not just guesses.

There are folks that hang around there that aren't on staff here, but there are also members of RC staff in there regularly.
Now, not having done any research on your situation, working only from memory (which may be foggy from time to time), the issue here was your commercial ties to the hobby, not necessarily that you were looking for Berghia.

To be clear here since I infracted you. Trading has the same rules as selling, and in fact you were trying to trade non reef items of which you were selling as a business. That's the 'you can't advertise your business' part. You also added a link and posted a portion was going to a charity. I can send you your post if you need to remember it.

You haven't been here since and you return 7 months later to complain?
