Outstanding! I definitely don't have that!
What I do have are these very hard spiral shaped 'shells' that will eventually move as they get bigger. Think of it as the size of a grain of salt...and many weeks later I have small snails running around (not sundial snails but pure white cone snails.) The shells are only located on my standpipes and back glass of the tank.

Today I really tested my eyes to see what they were. It actually looks like tiny feather dusters. I saw something fuzzy sticking out on a couple of them (the more larger ones - size of a grain of salt). Not sure if they really do move or something pulled them off or they moved themselves.
I will try to snap some pics tomorrow.
