Can the Apex do this...?

So, I bought a Digital Aquatics RKE. I guess I didn't do enough research to it's functionality before I bought it. I'm putting my tank in my theater room, and I want to have a mechanical switch which, when I switch it on, it will turn off the main LED light fixture, turn on moonlights to a level which is different from my normal programmed cycle, and slow down powerheads to reduce noise.

I contacted DA and apparently this can't be done with their system out of the box. I'm curious if the Apex has this type of functionality. The problem with the DA unit is the SW5 module only has control over on/off settings of the other DA modules. There's no fine control for overriding any settings (such as light dimming level) from whatever the 'auto' setting is. So basically, an override switch for everything in the system that says, when on, ignore the programmed auto settings, and set EVERYTHING to these parameters. When it goes off, continue with the normal auto cycles.

I bought the DA unit through BRS, so I'm assuming I can probably return it as I've only had it a few weeks.

Yes. The Apex can detect switch states and respond according to your custom code. The choice of switch will determine the exact behavior. For instance, a momentary switch, such as a doorbell, can initiate various behaviors across multiple outlets for a set duration and then reset to normal. A toggle switch would require the user to manually reset it. To get a idea of how people are using the switch functionality, search the forum for threads on ATO and water change schemes.
