i did some searching but couldn't find a definitive answer to if the profilux unit could control vortech powerheads in the same way it can control tunze powerheads.

anybody know?

I was a little bummed about this as well and this is part of the reason, I'm going to hold of on buying a controller. Hopefully someone (Profilux cough cough) will develop something that'll work like the Tunze controlling.

You have to understand that the 1-10v interface is pretty much standard.
Imagine Matthias had to support every proprietary device, the profilux would still be stuck @ version 1 and there would no progress made since all the ressource will have been spend and decoding/descrambling everything.....

Anyways all that means is that Vortech has to come out with pump that are 1-10v controllable.

yeah.

i just like that the vortech's cords are not in the water. :D no big loss, esp. since the tunze's are cheaper anyway

We had communication with them back last year.

Is simple for GHL to implement and the need is also there.

But as Lorin says GHL cant cater for all needs sadly although some we give priority above others.

All I can say is GHL is working on some huge advances that will become very apparant in the next 12 months. :)

Glad to hear that product development is coming along. Thanks

Like a new controller with unlimited interfaces? ;) Profilux III :)

Some manufacturers may not want to allow their powerheads to be controlled by anything except their own controllers so they sell more of their own stuff. I just wish that they would at least put in a feeding pause input in those cases.

well as a web developer, i believe that open standards breed innovation :D this is true in any industry.

and honestly, it actually makes them more money to be open. i'm literally going to buy tunze powerheads instead of vortechs b/c they work with the profilux.

You could get a feeding pause when you connect the main power supply of the Vortech pumps to one of our powerbar sockets which has the function "filter", or am I wrong?

It costs me AUD$330 for a 6-way board as this is all that i can get in the aus plug style. I know the functionality outweighs the cost but there are also other things to consider like being able to run the pump / powerhead off a battery packup which means either running all 6 points or not having that ability.

Thats a good question.....since I am still debating either Vortech or Tunze.

When you hit the feed button on the controller, will it turn off the 'filter' option for a set period of time? As long as the setting on the Vortech do not get erased with a power loss, I don't see why it shouldn't work.
