can u have 2 much live rock ?

in my 150 tank 100 sump

i have aroung 700-800 pounds of rock is this 2 much ?

In a word: no. Unless it's spilling out of the tank. I'd like to know how you crammed that much in there though, unless it's really, really dense rock. I had about 200 lbs in my 155 and that more or less filled it up.

I did the math wrong, I only have 500-550 pounds

The only problem that I know of with a lot of rock is that there are more places for detritus and stuff to hang around in. Oh, and if you ever have to get a fish out your kind of scwd.

That's still a lot of rock! Looks like some good solid pieces too, which can make a huge difference.

i have tried to get fish out.

they have died or lived because i cant get them out.

oh no i bought al lot of it from people who were getting out of the hobby.

my last batch was 300 + pounds. for a great deal. i sold it for what i paid for it.

but i also keept 100+ pounds out of that batch

I make sure to keep good flow around most of the rocks if possible to make the most of my rocks surface area for the "good bacteria" filtering
