Can you cut torch coral with bone cutters

Hi

Mine have split. Is it ok to use bone cutters? It won't like break apart from the pressure, the skelaton is not too brittle?

Do you know if they grow faster as multiple heads or as single heads
if that matters.

I wouldn't use bone cutters, they tend to split, I use a fine saw or a multi tool

bone cutters (linesman pliers, or a big enough set of dykes work too) work good as long as the heads have grown a good bit of bare skeleton between the heads and the split. I have found all euphillia (branching, not wall) to be fairly easy to frag. If they have not grown out yet you should leave them for a while so the individual heads can fully develop.

(the saw stated above would be a nice idea as well, it would leave a nice flat surface to mount)

You can but dont cut too close to the flesh area, like others said they tend to split n damage it. If you have a dremmel tool use that, it will be a cleaner cut.

Thanks. I ended up getting a cheapo rotary tool, will get diamond blades soon.

When the torch tentacles retract, I clearly see 2 heads in the skelaton although not
quite a large gap yet.

I would assume they are healthier as 2 heads and grow quicker vs. single head?

btw, I only had both torch frags for about 1-2 weeks. They really split that quickly?

I will just hold off on fragging them
