It looks an awful lot like one of the large Nass snails in my tank so I'll be following closely to see if you get a different answer than that but mine hasn't seemed to bother anything.

Super tongan nassarious snail. Can get pretty big. Definitely fun to watch!

Yeah mine is 2 1/2 inches long. He climbed the glass the other day and I thought my wife was going to run and hide.

They're not going to make that pile of detritus in your BB tank disappear though... When you OVERFEED, then these things come into play.
