thanks. i've had mine a little over 2 months. the pic of the TP that Kevin posted from DD 9-21-2011 is mine. DD's been selling their last few TP for 500.

I try to keep my tank around 74-76. My heater did go out on me yesterday and I had that replaced this afternoon. Tank was running about 68 with the heater down for the day. Didnt look like it bothered the fish any.

High temp will do nothing at all for marine ich.

The tough part about keeping a SPS tank and having a lot of angels is trying to keep water quality up with all the feedings. Some people feed once per day, but I like to feed 3-5x/day.

Hey...then how come everyone dec their salinity and Inc the temp in qt tank when their fish has issues?

Is it better to dec the temp for personifier ?

I know thats why I lost my Sps from last year
I am getting bio pellets for boxing day

increasing the temp is qt help speeds up the ich's life cycle, but does nothing for killing the ich itself. lowering the salinity to say 1.018-.020 verses 1.026 will help increase the oxygen content in the water, but does not eradicate ich. the salnity has to be real low, sub 1.012 to have any effectiveness against ich. preferably 1.009 for max effectiveness.

i keep my QT at all times the same as my DT, 1.020 temp 74-76.

yes it did, but I didn't move it, I just put it in my reef tank from day one and put a cleaner wrasse with it, and fed the a chilies food that was soaked with selcone and garlic every single day.


thats how I lost all my sps, lol

had it for 8 months

then one day my main pumps, impeller broke, and it was in the summer, so the temp increased a little, so my apex turned on the fan to dec it, and since the fan was on top of my display, and the temp probe was in my sump, even the the temp was decreased in the main display, the sump was still high, so the fan brought the temp down from 81 to 73 within 5 hours or so...

After that the a chilies started to do bad and one day it was gone, but now I am over it and I don't think I will get a chilies anytime soon.

if i can get a 84x33x28" upgrade next yr, then i will get one.

the only tang i have in my DT is a 5" PBT. i just added it the other day, but kept it in the acclimation box.



those show size achilles on DD is sweet as hell. the one today didnt last but maybe a couple of hours.

so have you decided if you will get that TP?

I dunno bc I know rare fish etc etc, like I will pay 500 for black tang bc it's rare and 1600 for conspicious
But why 475 for a tp when you can get fp for 150 which will have nicer mask thAn tp
Also
It requires colder temp which is hard and some guys said here that the black bar may go away

Also another issue is my current fp is 4 inch and this tp is 6 inch so if I get it then the tp will become male and my fp will be femAle
In thAt case I won't hve a fp male will nice mAsk

If the tp wS less then I MAy consider
