can you recommend a clam?

Hello, i would love to get a clam anf after reading the sticky i see that i have the min. ligth for some clams. However i have a 24G that has been running about 6 months. I would like a clam that would attach to the rock. any suggestions?

Aerowen I'm pretty new to clams as well and I started off with a T. Corcea. Test all your water parameters to make sure they are good and then just follow the clam acclimation steps and you should be good. I'm up to 8 clams now in my 60gal system.

I would recommend a Crocea. Maxima could also be a possibility.

I like dersea but it will outgrow your tank so maxima or crocea

Good clams to start with (easiest to most difficult):

Derasa (easiest and most forgiving)
Squamosa
Gigas (fastest growing and gets VERY large)
Crocea (slowest growing)
Maxima (most difficult of the above to keep)

Get a crocea from Clams Direct. That's a healthy positive way
to start clamming.

I say crocea too... Derasa are the easier clam to go with, but it definitly outgrow your tank.
