I just started into saltwater. I have had my tank going for about 3 weeks. I have two clowns, a peppermint shrimp and a sand sifting goby. Anyway, I have these coral like things growing on a chunk of live rock and I dont know what they are. One is about the size of a pencil eraser and the other is a little smaller. This is the best pic I could get, hope someone can help. Thanks.

Ya sort of new to this. I will have to try again when I get home to my computer. They are little pink coral lookin things with tentacle like things around the edge and they are round. It's not an aiptasia. I already got rid if one of those.

Ok trying this again. See if I can get the pic up. I dont think its a majano, although it could just be too juvenile.

Definitely looks like some kind of anemone, but not aiptasia or majano. Can you get closer pics? I won't be able to identify it from that, but I'm sure someone will LOL.

My guess would be Corynactis, a Ball-tipped Anemone - they look kind of like that when they're closed... easy way to check is to have a look at it while its dark - if it expands tentacles that end in tiny balls, that's what you've got.

Thanks

Awsome! Thanks guys for all your help. I looked up the strawberry anemone and that is what it is. I understand it's aggressive? So if I were to want to put other corals in my tank I should probably get rid of it?
