Candy Basslets - Mated Pair!

Hi all,

Just noticed the preview for LA includes a mated pair of Candy Basslets... anyone have a set up capable of taking these and trying to breed them?

They have been bred a couple times already and pairs come around quite often. The larvae are somewhat difficult to raise and need a few different species of copepods to get them to settlement.

They are simultaneous hermaphrodites.

Do you have any reference?.Quoting from Scott Michael´s Reef Fishes Series:

"Studies suggest that unlike many of the seabasses,these fishes are secondary gonochorists,which means they develop into one gender or the other and do not change sex.There is no known sexual dimorphism in any of the Liopropoma species..."

Thanks but I mean I'm not an expert on them, I only learned it from that article and an ichthyologist friend also has told me he thought they were hermaphrodites too. So it's my best understanding of the topic.

But after some digging,I found several reports sustaining that they are gonochorists,some with gonad exam.Yet I keep hoping Todd was right (not just lucky) and any two will do.These fish are expensive and only show locally in small (2-3)numbers.
