candy cane and frogspawn care

I just bought a candy cane frag (3 heads) I have read different things online, I've read, high light and high current and have read the opposite, low light and low flow b/c they are deep water.

I am really confused. I just bought my first LPS (frogspawn and candy canes) any tips on both would be appreciated. will try and post some pics afterwork tonight.

I keep my candy canes under high light and moderate to high flow.
From my experience frogspawn/hammers do well in my tank at moderate light (about halfway down under PC) and high flow. In my old nano 10 I had my powerhead blasting my frogspawn and it loved it.

My wall hammer HATED high flow. I have my frogspawn and hammer right next each other midway in my tank under T5 HO's. They get low to moderate flow.. I can't imagine a frogspawn liking to get "blasted' by a powerhead...

my hammers and frogspawn hate the high flow as well. I also keep mine at about midway under t5 HO's

I may try to change my flow a bit to see how it goes. Mine are both midway but getting pretty good current. Right at the wall where it banks off they are up close to the glass.
I will also have to get some pictures up.

Does anyone have any good feed tips for candy canes? I know you have to spot feed mostly, but what are most people feeding them?

I've been spot feeding ours frozen Mysis. I can drop one on a closed polyp and it will draw it in. If you watch, there is no visible movement but look back in a minute or two and the shrimp will be disappearing. The polyps bulge while doing this and then open. Or after dark they open naturally.

I've also fed frozen adult brine shrimp. but I've heard that unless they're fortified, they provide little nutritional value.

I don't think feeding of these is required, but I like to do so to encourage extra growth. We've got 5 polyps (green trumpet) and would like to see more. We typically feed every other day.

HTH,

Here's a tank shot, I shut off the pwr head on the top right b/c I thought it was blowing the Frogspawn around too much. My PJ is huge lol.

Right now I have eggcrate on top of the tank with 1 sheet of window screen. I just added these corals on saturday and have a huge shippment of zoo's and paly's arriving today. I'll prolly leave it on for the next week or 2.

I use seachem reef salt and dose with Kent Marine Liquid Reactor

Spac G: 1.24
Cal :420
P.H. 8.3-8.5
Temp: 76

Here's a closer shot of the frogspawn, there is one head on the bottom that is not getting any light that is staying closed up.
Should I try and remove the head with a dremel and expoy it to some rubble to Give it a chance and see if it grows, Will it die off if I don't? Should I take more then the one head? It has at least 12 and some are splitting.

Thanks again for all the help, Jeff

I have the same issue with my frogspawn, can I remove one head that isn't getting enough light and move it to another area?

Catfisher, I was told on my local forum that it is b/c I just put the FS in my tank a few days ago and it will adj, was told to leave it alone.
