the last 2 days one of my candy canes(neon green one) has been completely closed up..it seemed very healthy before size of a baseball....and now it just closed up any idea's? i do have a flame angel but totally seems to leave it alone and i dont see any sort of damage on it...so i dont think its getting eaten....

lately my red candy cane has been having issues to since my anemone decided it wanted the same spot it was in.....so i somewhat think its recovering but lately who knows all my other coral seems fine (blasto/frogspawn/zoo's/GSP)

any idea's....should i like put a bottle over them or something?

thanks

Something has changed and you need to figure it out. Most candies will always open with light. Are you target feeding something to them a couple of times a week?

never target fed them to be honest i tested amonia is like nothing same with nitrates....i been putting a teaspon of iodine/calcium/strontium once a week or so...other then that not much has changed about 3days ago i did a 5gallon water change.

salinty = 1.025-1.026...

thinking of it i upped my light times another 45mins with the mh's on could that make a difference....

how long have you had the candy cane? some heads will sometimes close up for a couple of days, its normal. I think I understand from your post that only a coiuple of heads ae affected like this. If this is the case, just wait it out a few days

When the lights go out you should see their feeder tentacles come out to feed. That's whey you want to feed them with things like finely cut up mysis or cyclops. They love it and it will make them very happy and healthy!

no every polyp is closed up on the neon green candy cane...

on my way home now (usually see it only later int he day) hopefully he's a open..but shrug
