Candy Cane melting or eaten?

The top fleshy part of the candy cane started to look like it was tear or ruptured. I thought something may have eating it....but not likely since I don't have any predator that I know of. Dipped the candy cane in Coral Revive and place it in another location of the tank. But still no improvement. It has been one week since the dip. The top fleshy part seem to melt away...leaving the white skeletal part.

Other corals are doing fine.
Water parameters are normal.

Attached is a pic when I did the dip.

Inhabitants:
2 Ocellaris clown
1 Naso tang

Various Leather corals
Duncan
birdnest
Various mushrooms

What is causing this? Can I prevent it from spreading to the other head?

I really don't know what the deal is with your candy cane coral, but assuming your parameters are within reason, you might want to look into Brown Jelly Disease/Syndrome.

I don't see any jelly or coating on the coral. But you might be right about some type of infection. It started with a rupture of the fleshy part....then the fleshy part slowly melted away. I plan to dip the coral again this weekend. Hopefully, it won't spread further.
