Candy Cane melting

I got my Candy Cane a week ago (6-28). I moved it to another location on 7-01. The 2 heads that was leaning against live rock was melting away. I put it in a PVC pipe on the sand bed now.

What can I do to save it?
Is it a bad thing to put it against live rock or anything at all?
What would cause Candy Cane to malt?
My water parameters are not ideal. Is that my problem?

SG - 1.027
pH - 7.98
Alk - 7.00
Ca. - 160 (I may need to re-test this one)
Mg - 1155
Nitrite, Nitrate, and Ammonia are all 0's.

Need a little more info to help. What kind of lighting do you have? Where in the tank is the candy cane? Is it near something that could be stinging it? I would lower you salinity a little..... Definately retest Ca. My candy canes seem to like medium to low lighting with low flow.... Good Luck

My lighting is Constellation with 5 T5s on at the moment.
The flow is not strong.
I don't see anything stinging it because all I have is a Candy Cane and a Zoanthid which is down stream. I have vermetid snails all over though.
It's on a crack on a live rock when it gone bad. I put it inside the crack where the candy cane leaning against the rock. Soon after I moved it to the new location, I noticed it started melting.
I'll post a better picture later.
