I just got this camera as a present. Does anyone use one, and can comment on how well it photos tanks? Think I can get real real good pics using it and PS?? Thanks and happy holidays. :)

I tried it. I think I need t play with it more, I couldn''t find any white balance on the menu but it's supposed to have a manual WB adjustment feature.

Here's a few I'm kinda happy with. Still, I want a DSLR. This camera is a "we" present rather than a "me" present. ;)

Yeah I ran them through PS. Nobody gets perfect images with point and shoot. ;)

And I realize there's no coraline to be seen in the pics. The joys of cooking rocks for close to a year after Katrina wiped me out. :(

i havw the sd700is and to set whitebalance hae the wheel set to the manual mode, hit the func/set button the third option going down is your white balance, scroll all the way to the right within and the last option tells you if you hit the menu button you will evauluate the white balance of the current frame

I just about bought that same camera for my father this christmas, great screen on that one. I went with the SD630 instead only because it was smaller.

I'm not sure what features it has but a few things have helped me with my cannon (powershot pro1). Some functions must be the same.

-Using the continuous shooting feature means i can take 10 or so photos at a time, 2.5 a sec, and so my shaky hands are cancelled out in at least some of them, but a tripod will solve that too...

-It looks like you're having focusing issues to me, maybe just because there seems to be a glow around the edges. mine has a "Macro" and "Super Macro" mode which adjust the autozoom for close ups...

I'm playing with my camera now, so if i figure anything profound out i'll let you know. I just posted a few pics -->
