Cannot identify this fish

I saw this interesting fish in my LFS today and I am interested to buy it, appreciate if someone can identify it and advise if its reef safe.

looks like some sort of dartfish O.O, maybe a faded blue gudgeon?

but the tail is different than a blue gudgeon?

perhaps, from what I've seen of blue gudgeons they have a very similar bar on their tails. Then again, this is only a guess. I'll look for other types of dartfish and see if I can find something.

Hmm scratch that, flagtail dartfish? Ptereleotris uroditaenia, the tails look more similar to the one in your picture, dark bars over light. Also, the eyes have the same yellowish rim.

It's a Flagtail Tilefish Malacanthus brevirostris, it grows a lot (30cm) and tends to make a mess in tanks as it likes to play with sand. It should be reef safe, but I really don't think it's very suitable for aquarium. In the wild they are territorial, so might be aggressive in tanks.
