Okay I have had a white stripe maroon clown for over 2 years. I purchased another one that was ½ inch to form a pair. The clowns been together for almost three months. They never showed aggression towards one another, have not came within 6 inches of one another either.
How can I pair my 2 years old maroon?
Should I exchange the smaller one for another slightly bigger?

with maroon clowns you want one to be considerably different sizes, there the most aggressive. It just takes time normally, just like in nature pairing doesnt happen right away. as long as the bigger one isnt going for the kill you should be good just wait it out.

how long do you think i have to wait. The bigger one is at the bottom right corner of the tank and the smaller is at the upper left corner of the tank. I just thought something should be happening after almost three months.

It can take months if not years for clowns to pair up...and sadly they may never pair up! So if you're really interested in getting a bonded pair, buy one that's already paired up!

Either that...or just play the waiting game!

does anyone know why they ignore one another? If the large female was wild caught and the small male is tank breed, could that make a difference?
