Canon 7D from Dell

What a disaster! Did anybody else here take advantage of the 20% Bing.com cashback from Dell.com this Black Friday? Aparently Dell.com sells cameras and such via their website, so when Bing.com announced Black Friday that they were giving 20% cashback through Dell.com you could pick up a Canon 7D for $1519 WITH the kit lens! Well that was 2+ weeks ago and I still don't have my camera. In fact, I just got a second email saying my order has been delayed now until January 8th! and if I did not respond in 24hours they would CANCEL my order. What a jack session! This is seriously rediculous... The website said "usually ships within 24hours" when I puchased. I understand that they probably sold a butt load and ran out, but how can they sit there and sell units that aren't in stock?

Sorry for the rant, but I hate Dell! If it weren't for the incredible deal that I can't get anywhere else I would have canceled the order a LONG time ago...

I really didn't need one right now, but my local shop had a "No Tax" sale and I just got my Christmas bonus. So I had to pick one up today and its sitting in my office right now.

Most of the time getting a sweet deal requires jumping through some hoops. Hang in there... or just cancel the order if you need it now



FWIW, the same thing happened with the 5D mkII. Quite a few deal seekers of the 7D and 5D were buying not one, but two kits so they could sell the second to get an even better net price on the first. I wonder how many Dell ended up selling!?!

Dell still sucks, their customer service reps are absolutely horrible. They just want to get you off the phone as soon as possible after making you wait on hold for 30 minutes. I will not be ordering from them again, no matter how good a deal!

i used to work for dell..i would never buy any electronics from them, everything would always be back ordered or completely out of stock for months. You live and learn!
