As the title says, I am looking for a reasonably priced lens for my canon 50D for taking maco shots mainly of coral and fish, but also as a general macro lens and portrat lens. What would you recomend? Currently, I only have a Sigma DC 18-200 as my general shooting lens, but the shortest focal length is around 2 feet. I want something that will get closer with moderate telephoto. When that lens is extened it get way too long.
Canon compatible macro lens for tank shots?

I know that you said that you want something with telephoto, but the best macro lens for tank shots is the Canon 100mm. Or the mac daddy of macro would be the same Canon 100mm lens but, with an image stabilizer. Two great lenses!
