Canon Powershot G7

Does anybody have any experience with this camera? I am considering this camera as opposed to a dslr. I just cant afford to purchase a dslr camera and a underwater case for a trip I have coming up. I would love some feed back or suggestions if you can. Thanks and I hope someday soon I can take pictures of my tanks that are half as good as you guys.

It's gotten really good reviews. I owned (and loved using a G6). The only issue that I have with the G7 is that is doesn't offer RAW format. For an underwater/tank camera where white balance is frequently an issue I'm not certain that I'd be happy with it.

It accepts canon EF lenses I believe. So you can buy new lenses if you would like. Then maybe if you have money down the road you can upgrade to a DSLR and still use your lenses. That's a plus if you're hoping to keep with photography.

G7 is a point and shoot - not a SLR; it can only use the lens that it comes with.
