Canon VS Nikon

I like the D200 but to be perfectly honest I haven't used any other DSLR's aside from my friends D40, and there are obvious differences there. The camera is great, it is me that needs to play with the bracketing and composing the picture properly. I really like the look of some images cropped, but it is my goal to begin concentrating on avoiding crop.

I want to get into HDR and use the helicon system, but I need to focus on good ol' me first before I get in over my head. but that's what I like about digitial as compared to my EOS 650, no more notebook to record notes.

Sorry I had to look up what you were talking about. High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) that awesome stuff. Some example pics I have come across are amazing. Now I have a new topic to research. Have there been any good topic threads on this here on RC, or anywhere else? To answer your question, Yes.

I was a complete amateur taking those pics at white sands. I would love another shot at it.

That is pretty neat. I love it out there. Think I took around 1000 pictures during my 8 day trip.

I think I must have taken 20 shots of it, trying to get the right angel, and messing with the filters.

Also got a few of the other houses on "Mormon Row"

No I haven't But, I could only imagine how beautiful it would be -- would have to make sure I had extra memory cards with me.

I have to say, I'm a Canon guy, but I'm always a little jealous of the deep, saturated colors that you see so often out of Nikons. Hmm.

Oooo, I just realized I can hook up the 2x teleextender behind it, too. I haven't played with the combo yet but I can see some fun playtime in the future. 10x lifesize, here I come. Of course, I'll need telescoping arms to hold the lens.

I'm going to have to spend some more time with my RAW files and see what I can do about the color issue, though. I'd really like to see, say, that tulip picture I posted with a lot more rich color like the flower photos you posted above.

and im jealous of the 22 megapixel 1Ds mark III maybe a D3Xs will be available in the future.

for going beyond 1:1 with my nikon, im saving my pennys for one of these.

don't care about out in the field, care about fish tank pics. So... close to 11x 1:1 macro? Is that right?

I'll have to look into that a little further.

There is such a thing as adding so much extension that the minimum focal point winds up inside the lens. Just because you can do it doesn't mean that it works.

the city scape i took on a business trip to Kansas City, MO a couple months ago.

hey junior, nice shots. i really like the last one. but on the cityscape, im not to fond of the white beam in the foreground. i think it would look better if you cloned it out. just my two cents
