I would remove the glass lids. You are going to generate alot of heat with those lights. Evaportation with help with regulating your tank. That is unless you have a chiller.
I also agree with LTCrunch, the more the merrier. I currently have two 400W MH's and I run 2 fans in the canopy right now, but I am debating on running two more.
Also consider how high the lights will be off the water. If you are currently running PC's or MH's with lower wattage I would run them for less time until your corals get acclimated.
Ehutchby, as for quite fans, most 12v DC fans are quite, I guess it's all personal preference. I got mine from a local Radio Shack and they aren't loud at all. I guess the need for cooling out weighs the need for silence in certain cases.
