canopy paint

What kind of reef-safe primer/paint that I can find at Home Depot to use on the inside of canopy? It should be non-toxic & moisture/heat resistant? Thanks.

i used kilz oil based white paint and it has been good.

I forget the name, but I used paint for boats. There is a paint section at Lowes for boating equipment.

i painted mine with 2 coats of kilz and then 2 coated of extirior high gloss white

There was a study done a while back and flat paint actually reflects the light better than high gloss does.

is oil based reef-safe? I don't have a glasstop so condensed water will drop back into the tank.

i wish i would have known that before i painted mine dkh0331. oh well it is ddoing good so far.

i've never had a problem with condinsation on the canopy at all since i have fans mounted in the canopy

Yeah, its not like your canopy will fall apart or anything. The reflection off it is just a little bit less than if you had not used glossy.

i have two 4" fans mounted in my canopy so i should have a problem with condensation. but i dont know yet i just put the canopy on there yesterday
