Canopy Pulley system on my 120g

Just thought id share my hop-up of my canopy. I purchased my Tenecor setup from a local chi-town guy, so i wasnt able to modify the canopy to my liking, allowing me access to the tank. Terrible design IMO.

The canopy was already made. I'd say craftmanship was top notch 10+...yet ease of use is a straight up "0".....so i had to decide what to do....well ended up with this...what ya think?

I like it, I have thought about doing something like this with my corner, would be awesome if you could do it with stainless steel cables.

When I purchased the setup, it was BRAND SPANKING new.....i dont think he knew what he was getting into, :lol:

hey joe....No-one but me, so i needed to do something!

PS i used door handles on the top of the canopy, everyone should install them on there canopy....so much easier to lift off and carry!

Nice, but I think it would look a little better if you replaced those bigass hooks with something a little more discrete.

You know I've been there, done that.

Are you using a ratcheting winch, like for a boat trailer? Or just a tie-down? I'd recommend getting a very small winch, and leveling the rig out a bit.

Unfortunately, you'll get tired of looking at it eventually, and take it apart. I wrestled with mine for about 6 months before giving up.

Chris, you are probably correct, but i needed to do something...i needed access! a winch would actually be nice!

Red sea...you are very correct, a bike holder it is....thats another hobby that sucks all my extra $$$ as well!
