Can't decide on a controller

I have a 150 gal mixed reef tank and am wanting to get a controller. In the near future I will be want g it to run my reef breeder led lights, my 2 jaebo wp40's, my heater, my co2 reactor, and a top off system.

Initially I was going to go with the RKE for $350 because it could do all that (except for maybe the jaebo power heads)
I've read so many people loving their reef angel that I'm second guessing going with RKE. I know RA can control the power heads and is cheaper (I'd go with the one with less memory since it's only $75 to upgrade if I ever need to)

Really the only thing holding me back is the programming part. I'm very unskilled (clueless) when it comes to programming code. I read something about hooking up to "the wizard" if your just running normal stuff. Would that cover setting all the code I would need and could a computer coding novice handle a reef angel?

Since you are a bit confused I thought I throw something else into the mix,, I use an Apex controls and monitors ever aspect of my tank powerheads, lights heaters, top off, ect. The only things I do not the Apex for is Auto water change. I have a Litermeter and it does 150 water changes every 24 hours. The other thing I do not use the Apex for is the Wave box. Hovever I do have both of these powered by the Apex so I can shutdown during feedings, or if a prameter is out of line. The other cool thing about Apex if there is a problem it will send you both an email and text messag if there is some type of problem. Since I travel it nice to be able to monitor and control my tank form any smart phone of any internet connection. The last cool thing about the Apex (I have not tried it yet) you can hook up a web cam and observe the tank from anywhere. Yes we like to brag about our tanks. LOL

with the RA Don't worry about the coding the wizard will do most normal functions anything else you want/need to program just post it on the forum and someone ,usually Roberto, will be MORE than happy to help you. You will NEVER be left hanging.

I suggest the Full Apex controller for the most complete plug and play product. The reef angel is probably the best bang for the buck along with unlimited programming and control's features that make it the "overall" best controller imo but is for more for the "hand's on" folk's. YMMV

Cheers,

Thanks for the input. I just needed a little more verification that I'd be able to get the reef angel up and running. It has all the features I was wanting and the price I was wanting, just wasn't sure about the coding.

Are they only available on reef angels web site? What's the difference between the Pwm and the analog? And with what I'm wanting it for am I safe just going with The basic and not the plus?

Reef angel is no harder than any other controller. And actually I'll venture off and say its easier to setup than a reef keeper. You need zero code experience and actually can use a GUI to set everything up.

Go to reefangel and download the files for setup and check out everything. You can take a peak at the GUI

Why? What made you go with profilux?

The profilux is the best controller on the market. The apex can do almost anything you can desire but the quality of the tue profilux is higher. There are more built in features and the controller is more user friendly.

Buy one "Used".... A ProFilux that is.... I have 3 different kinds. 3ex, 2, & a 2 light.
