Cant Get Milli's to Thrive

Did you check for pest? I thought I was very good at noticing pest and aefw but I had them for over a year and had no idea. Corals weren't really dying but I had poor color and no growth. Millis were the first to really take a hit. Then I noticed

This is what I dealt with. Millies doing poorly while others doing great. For some reason the aefw liked the millies. After a long battle to get rid of them, the millies that survived came around with good colors and great pe

THe .03 P04..... Yest I know there was no Milli's in there... I will get a few pics posted...

Bumping this back up. I found this thread while searching for issues with Palmers Blue milli coloring up.

I got a couple frags from a prominent reefer in my area and they went from an amazing vibrant deep blue to a pale blue/white. I've tried everything from low in the tank to the very top, high, medium low flow etc etc and they just won't get any color back. I was using a Kessil A350 and now have my tank under a AI Sol Blue so maybe it's a spectrum issue? The only other coral that doesn't seem to like my tank is GARF purple bonsai. It is also on the pale side.

Otherwise I'm really happy with my other SPS pieces which include Oregon tort, Cali tort (thriving), SD Aqua rainbow milli, green milli, pink lemonade, raspberry lemonade etc.

No complaints with any of the above stuff in terms of color or PE at all. I run the Sols at 65% W, 70% B, 80% RB at peak. My nitrates and phosphates are undetectable. I run a skimmer and GFO/carbon reactor. I've been tempted to try cutting off the GFO just to see what happens but I'm afraid of an algae bloom.

I guess I could live with most of my SPS thriving but I sure miss that amazing color from my Palmers.

Well I am gonna take some pics today.. Since getting my nitrates up, thinks have improved . Of the 3 millis that looked like crap one of them looks great. The palmers is recovering and growing but no where near the color it was and one newer milli is growing like a weed. The biggest improvement was wen I changes my flow from short puls to long 5 second pulses. My growth took off. I needed to double my alk in just 3 days....

Well here are three milli's. The palmers blue has been in my tank for over a pear...It is finally coloring back up but at a much slower rate than my other corals. It was all but dead...

The Bubble Gum Milli did nothing at all until the nitrates got up to about 2ppm consistently. It is starting to take off.

The second one has been doing well since day one... Grows like a weed...
