Captain America vs. Purple Hornet

I would go with the frag pack. Look at WWC site I see where I could spend 90 bucks and have 15 - 20 polyps. They have frags of 5 and 6 going for $30. I mean if you have gotten to a point where you have every zoa that is out there and those are the only two to pick from, I would go for the Captain America first.

You missed the purple hornet at the ORCA meeting. It was a single polyp and went for $50. Both those zoas are super nice. Under some intense blue the purple hornet is amazing.

Captain American is a paly and much bigger than the Purple Hornets. I have a Purple Hornet and have seen the captain paly at WWC. Both are nice. I am on a growout for the Captain America right now on R2R

I would go with a frag pack of equal value. I prefer starting with smaller colonies than single polyps, and realistically unless you plant your face on your glass a macro shot is very different than the look of a colony.
I've seen some zoa gardens of your typical common varieties - even brown polyps mixed in that just look stunning from the growth and geometric shapes made from the polyps.
For me, the other two are what I'd accept as a gift. For the money I'd go with a clam ;p

yeah thats the problem. wwc sells out so quick of the good stuff they mostly only have stuff I already got or things I don't really like.
As soon as my foot gets better I am heading over to "The Browns" place to get a VDM.
I am leaning towards getting the Captain America if I don't find a mouth watering frag pack for 200 bucks.
I've got both of them in my tank at home. I personally like the purple hornets more due to the fact that the skirts actually do change colors (purple, yellow, purple, yellow) it amazes me when things of nature do that kinda stuff. such as a target mandarin.
anyways. I personally don't feel like either of these are worth the prices they are fetching online. but due to ebay, it's not the sellers fault, but the buyers for bidding that high.
single polyps of purple hornets have easily reached over $200+ and a single polyp of the captain ahve reached atleast 150+ if not 200. Never watched the ending of an auction, just the beginning.
people that know i've had the z's and p's online have sent me rediculous offers, but I'm not selling untill they're a nice colony. I'm always willing to trade for something I don't have...but not selling.

I have a large colony of the hornets and I love telling people that ther not for sale .. one of my fav zoos funny I have had them way before the craze I only paid 15 bucks for the colony ...lol score!!!!

Dude I thought you said $15 for the colony....that's a pretty small colony. I guess you meant $15 for a polyp.

No acctually I have a colony that still only cost 15 bucks !!! ... I dont have to pay everytime a new head sprouts ???
