Mine are just starting to color up This is an older pic ill have to get an updated one.

I have mine on a rack at the top of my tank under 4 T5 lights:

mines are very similar to that and i see in some that they have green in them i have them at the bottom not i used to have them at the top i have 110w in a 34 gallon where should i place them? they are t5 BTW

i have heard they grow pretty slow. one of the reasons why they are so expensive....

I bought a 6/7 polyp frag at MANCA 2009 from Jason Fox who got them from WWC which is where they originated (paid 200 for those who want to know). I had it under a 14k 250w MH bulb pretty high up on a frag rack. It grew out to 17 polyps pretty quickly so about 4 months ago I fragged it down to about 9 or 10 (donated several to our local club for raffles and freebies and gave 4 or so polpys to a friend as my backup if I ever lost the colony). I am back up to 15 (traded 2 polpys to a local LFS about a month ago).

Color wise they look good under the 14k bulbs. My friend has them under PCs and they look awful, he moved them under his T5s to color them up a bit. I had them under my 5 bulb T5 fixture for a little while and they showed some good color. It seems the brighter higher K bulbs really brings out the color of the polyp.

I got a baby polyp from a friend about 9 months ago. I'm talkin pinhead size, no color whatsoever. He said "Here man this is a Captain America". I looked at it and thought yeah, OK we'll see. Well, I'll tell ya within a week it was coloring up. After a month it was fully colored and had a little bud next to it. Fast forward to today. I have sold about 12 polyps, still have 8 polyps and it continues to grow and show grreat color. I have some in my frag tank under 250W Radiums and I have some in my 30gal cube in my Bedroom under a 150HQI 14K Phoenix. They look great in both places. Heres a pic from my frag tank taken about an hour ago:
