Captive Raised Bangaais for Sale

MarineFishGuy

Capn Jack Sparrow
Our Bangaii pair in the Mixed Reef decided to have a brood after almost a year together. I was able to raise 18 of the 23 original babies to a healthy size. They are readily eating frozen Cyclopeeze and Mysis. The larger ones are starting to get more aggressive towards some of the smaller ones and I feel it is time to start finding them new homes. I do not have a way to separate them easily since I am not setup as a breeder. I have been given permission to sell these babies on RC, but this is a one shot deal.

They are $15 each. PM me if you are interested.

If you have had bad luck with Wild Caught Bangaiis here is your chance to get some that are already acclimated to life in a glass box and eating frozen food.

Bangaqiis Cardinals are listed on the IUCN Red List.
Help reduce pressures on wild populations by making the responsible choice.

It is hard to tell with so many in the tank
(29gallon). I have witnessed different social interactions, but so far I have not seen any pairs formed.

Right now the body on the larger ones is about the size of a nickel.

I plan to keep a few so if anyone ends up with a fighting pair (2 males) I can try swapping one with mine. At this age there is no easy way to tell what sex they are.

i understand the issues with sexing them. even full sized they are hard to sex. i will definitely take 2. i will pm you to arrange a pick up date.

It was nice meeting you last night Brian. I hope everyone made it home alright, they looked good right before they left and had a good dinner. :)

Let me know if you run into any issues with them fighting as that means you likely have two males.
Two females will basically ignore each other.
Two males will fight and chase each other, sometimes to the death.

This will become more apparent as they grow.

it was nice meeting you too! so far they are just hanging out on opposite sides of a 5g tank. they seem to be ignoring each other. it could just be that they are adjusting to the new environment. i put a zip tie creation into their tank to make them feel more comfortable.

Ken, It was so nice to hang out with you and the Mrs. The fish are great. Loved your set up as well. Keep up the good work.....

That is great news Brian and Lindsey. If I had enough tanks I would keep them all ;)
But since I don't, it is great to find good responsible reefers to give them new homes.

Yes, I have about 10 left right now.
About half of them are still a bit small to go to new homes.
At least now they have a fighting chance to get some food.

i am thinking that we lucked out and picked a m/f pair! they are still somewhat hesitant, but they are getting more adapted to their house. i have them in a 20g H with my orange spotted filefish. i figured both would be interested in eating smaller prepared foods.

sorry to disrupt the thread ken.

i will start a new thread on the OSFF when i get home tonight or tomorrow. i have had it about 6 months. i have it eating flake food regularly now. it was touch and go for awhile, but it is doing great. i am actually, today, considering buying another to try and pair them up!

Ken,
It was nice meeting you guys. The new additions are doing well. They found each other over night and have paired up. Here is a pic.

It was great meeting you too. You will have to bring the Mrs over to see the tank. It may make sellign the upgrade easier ;)

I am glad to see they are hanging out together and doing well.

I PMed you the info on the bulbs.

As of now, they are all spoken for, unless someone backs out. I am still waiting to hear back from a few people.

No worries about the off topic stuff Brian, I found it interesting too.
I saw you had posted for some ORA corals.
You are aware that the OSFF is an Obligate Acropora polyp eater.
Even if it is eaten frozen it may decide it prefers fresh food ;).
Good Luck.
I thought about one for the Mixed Reef 75 as it is very light on SPS, but decided against it for now. They are very cool looking fish.
