capturing a decorative pistol shrimp?

i have a small peppermint stripe pistol shrimp and striped goby pair in my 3g pico, but i am preparing a transfer and i need to get them out. how do i get them out of the tank?? it seems absolutely impossible. they are both lightning fast and very shy.

if you are planning on relocating everything in the tank, you could take all the rock out and then try catching the guys. Otherwise if you google DIY fish trap, there are plenty of sites that show how to make one out of a pop bottle. You could also take everythin out of the tank and just dump the guys out into a bigger container since this is a 3g tank.

Have you pulled out their rock and swished it around in the water? Maybe they'd fall out?

Other than that, I don't know. That tank is to small for a fish trap. Unless you could put the rock in a larger tank and employ a trap?

the thing is, they have tunnels under the largest rock in the tank, and im afraid to move the rock and squish them...

dont move(slide) it, just pick it straight up. swish it around a little if you don't see them in the sand below
