Awesome Shots! What camera are you using?

wow those are nice shots. I think I should get a macro lense for my new D200. What camera and lense you used here?

How are you planning on keeping that scallop alive...?

the scallop has been in my tank for 4 months. I have two actually, and they're both staying alive. the second came about 2-3 months ago.

I put in some phytoplankton every other day or so. I think there's a big zooplankton population growth after dosing phyto since my SPS have been going nuts ever since I started.

That isn't enough food. I couldn't keep them in a 450 gal refugium dosing a gal of phyto a day.
Not to pick on you, but I am just against people buying/collecting these. I haven't heard a single sucess story with them.

I can see how your experience with them has put you against those who are keeping them. I'm not sure, but I'll keep trying. So far it has been doing well for a good 4 months. It poops a lot, that's for sure =P

I'll probably post my findings, and I too will probably not keep another in the future since it does seem keeping them can be irresponsible. But I gotta try =P Whatever I'm doing now is still keeping them alive.

If that's still cruel, what should I do with them? A LFS would just try to sell them off again, will someone else's fuge keep them alive? A 450gal fuge with a gal of phyto a day isn't gonna keep them, that sucks. Well I'll probably stop buying them to boycott the whole thing.

My tank is small, tons of nutrients floating around (which is bad, I know) with no skimmer. Maybe it likes it =P

Koden, I thought about bringing my camera to the meeting, but since I was already carrying tons of treasury related stuff, I decided against it. I was hoping you'd bring yours. My bad, I should have said something.

hey Jim

i had a packed day today too. I had all my equipment with me in my car, but I couldn't stay through the raffle. Next time!

I"m actually planning a photoshoot with piberoptiks to the Conservatory of Flowers, if you'd like to come along I"ll keep you in the loop.

and awesome job with the raffle duties/treasury duties again ;)
