Carbon monoxide levels in house cause reef tank issues?

Since the incident on Wednesday night We have found the heat exchanger to be cracked and spewing CO into the house. We have moved out for our safety. No adverse side effects so far but does anyone see any issues that might arise. The unit is being replaced monday. I have noticed an increase in algea in the last week. I now think this might be the cause. What do you think?

Not sure but the only thing I can think of is a lower ph in you tank. Whats the ph now and are you adding kalk or anything to help maintain ph? If you have a fuge make sure the light is on to help process the co until the levels in your house return to normal, this should also help your ph, if you can run the air hose for your skimmer outside that will help. I think everyting should be fine just some preventative measures you can take. It could be the issue for your algea break out, how much and what kind.

I temp turned off the skimmer for a day till I can go over today and make some changes, the fuge light is on 24/7 since the it started I thought of that. ph seems ok little low at 8.0 but stable I did vent everal windows in the house to help lower CO levels and raise ox. I have enough tubing to run the skimmer outside and plan on doing today. The unit is getting replace on monday so its only temp. All critters and coral seem fine, the algea is mostly hair alge and the normal film on the glass is growing faster. its not out of control as of yet.

I think you should be fine. Gives your clean up crew a little something extra to eat. You will be able to address the algea problems once you get back in your house, i'm sure its just a small chemistry problem that can be solved with no problems. I guess the next battle will is your temp? To help keep temp in your tank you can wrap it with a blanket, run your lights a little longer, pick up a couple heat packs and put in ziplock bags and put in your sump, just a couple things to help out.

temp os ok I have two hvac unitsw on the house, just cranked up the other one which is new as of dec, and the house is staying around 68 deg the tank temp hasn't budged from 79.6 during the whole deal.
