Carbon or no Carbon in SPS Reef?

Ok, so i have done alot of reading on the debate on carbon leeching phosphates back in the tank. Can i get your opinion on whether to run carbon or not assuming phosphate remover is used. I currently use ROWA phosphate remover in a bag in my filter. I am considering removing the carbon, thanks.

I use black diamond activated carbon in a little bag in my sump. I haven't had any problems and my water looks great.

I've read a couple of these and the release is so small as to not be a concern. In the article by Steven Pro, he had 50ml of carbon in 250ml of water to get 0.25ppm. Assuming you use 1/2 cup per 40g which is the dose on what I use, that would be 0.000976563 ppm. And that's if it does leech, which other articles have said it doesn't if you rinse it. By contrast, 5 grams of flake food added to a 100g aquarium will add 0.4 ppm PER FEEDING.

OK, sounds great. I use black diamond also. I didnt like the way esv worked. I run a small amout also in my sump. Thanks for the tech specs. I think your right carbon isnt the point of concern for the phosphates, its the food
