The tumbling part can lead to crumbling of the GAC and GAC release into the aquarium. How bad that is for the creatures, I do not know.

Check out Coral magazine. It is one of the issues from last year. I viewed it on my iPad. The article demonstrated a direct link between carbon and HLLE. They hypothesized that small particles can cause the disease.

Thanks guys, i wasnt quite sure. It never tumbles, but this last batch i put in was even at the same amount and flow. I will reduce it.
