Hi everyone. These may be a stupid Questions .I have a issue with my water , it looks yellow . I read that using carbon would solve that issue. I bought a Phosban reactor w a rio 200 pump to cicurlate the water thru the reactor. My questions are?

1. What brand of Carbon to use?

2. How often do I change the carbon?

3. Should the flow rate be slow or fast thru the reactor?

Any insight would be helpful.....

I use kent marine carbon...buy it online whenever possible its cheaper. Also bulk reef supply offers a good carbon fairly cheap at a bulk rate. I would run fairly slow flow through it....a I run 2 to 300 gph....

Change the carbon once a month.

+1 with Shane. You can change the carbon more often which wouldn't hurt. What do you suspect is causing the water problem? Do you know you water parameters and temp?

I have both leather and sps in there . I was told that leather release some type to toxic that causes water to turn a little yellow.Don't know if thats tru but was told to run the carbon to get the yellow out ..
