I am running carbon 24-7 in my pohsban reactor will this take out to much out of the water. because i had two sps bleach i thought it was the temp that rose to 84 one day now its at 80 cal 450, ph 8.2 alk in the normal range with my test. Its only the arcos all the monti is ok. and i change 5 gallons of water a week does this give the coral all the trace elements they need 40 breeder 400watt 14k. Lights are on 10 hrs and add dts twice a week.

SPS can bleach with temp spikes especially if you go from 80-84 in a short time . IMO

I run carbon 24/7 also and have no problems . I even used to run it in the GFO reactor.

my power went out for 12hrs, no flow, temp ran down to 66F. Everything went back to normal as soon as the power came back. So I don't think its a temp thing, maybe increasing water changes could fix the water quality.

it is also temp rises in the natural reefs that also cause bleaching .

But then again a low nutrient tank with tons of lighting can do the same .

clkwrk i have a lot of light and had a lot of algea but now there is no algea i get very little on the glass how can i up the nutrients a little. Will that help.

It can :) I noticed once I reached the low nutrient area my corals did the lightening up thing . So I just increased my feeding a bit and things darkened back up some . If I go a few days without feeding I will see it in my corals as they lighten up again .

Are you using a GFO? If so you could back the flow off a bit and the may allow nutrients to come up a bit .But in the end I would rather add the nutrients daily by feeding.
