Need help in activated carbon usage

Hello All,

This is Naveen, I am new to this hobby. I have an 80L tank with some mushroom corals and BTA. I am dosing RedSea NO3 PO4-X daily 1.6ml and Fauna Marin Color elements (Blue, Green, Red) 1.6ml weekly once. I have activated carbon in my canister filter. Is it ok to run the activated carbon always in the canister? will it remove all the above dosings from the water column?

I personally run carbon continuously in my reactor. I change it out about monthly or so.

I personally never run carbon at all. I have always feared my fish getting HLLE.

I only run carbon intermittently. Not sure if it removes NO3 PO4-X

The great question in reefing that comes up frequently.
3 people do 3 completely different things with something. Does it really do anything?

I have heard carbon will reduce the smell of a tank some people find offensive and decolorize water. I do this with ozone.
