We will be having our January meeting next Saturday January 13th at 5 pm. The meeting will be at Sarris Underwater Creations in Bessemer off of I-459. Nick has said he would be glad to have us over for a meeting. He has also stated that he should have lots of The Coral Gardens (Philip's) frags on hand as well as other corals and fish. He also mentioned a discount on the above items. We are discussing a presentation and I am sure he will give us one as well. Sounds like it will be a good meeting and folks will be able to pick up some discounted frags. I would ask that all who plan to come post here or send me an email or pm and let me know how many your bringing so we will have an idea of how many to expect. Nick also said that if you want anything let him know and he will try to have it in the store. If you would just post here your requests or again email me with them I will pass it along. I am sure he will pop in and monitor the board to see if there are requests. Its not in our plans to have food on site for this meeting so please eat before you come or wait till after the meeting. The meeting will last an hour or two, they close at 7pm but said they could stay open a little longer if needed. However, I hope we can have the meeting wrapped up before closing. Remember this is only our second meeting so we are new and are not well structured at the moment. We do have a website www.alabamareefers.com. The site will be up soon enough Scothew will be designing and running the site, if I ever get off my lazy rear and get him the information he needs. I hope that we have a good turn out, there has been a lot of interest in the club. As stated before the club will meet in different places last time it was Jasper this time it will be Birmingham next time maybe Tuscaloosa if we get interest. Also please note we are a family oriented club and all family members are welcome to attend, we just ask that while in the stores that parents watch the children closely to insure that they don't hurt themselves or any fish or corals. As stated on the site there will be small annual dues that will be collected at some point in time this year to cover the cost of the website and other items of interest which will be discussed at meetings. No dues will be collected at this meeting again that will be later on. Pease try to attend if at all possible. I would also like to extend a welcome to all the folks from the NARC (North Alabama Reef Club), you are a great bunch of folks and I hope that you some of you can attend as well. We can also discuss the swapping of frags here as well. However, out of respect for our gracious host, if any are swapped I ask that it be done outside the shop after the meeting so make sure you pack them well. His prices are good before any discounts so I would hope that you guys will find lots of deals in the store as well. Sorry for the long post but lots of information to be passed along.
