What are you all feeding your juvi cardinals, Banggais in particular? Is anyone having success with frozen baby brine and or reef mush or do they require live?

I don't have any first hand experience but they do like live bbs, as they get a little bigger they might accept frozen cyclopeeze too.

First month: live bbs, 3 or 4 feedings a day; as much as the fry can eat in 10 minutes time

2nd month: you can start substituting frozen baby brine for the live and gradually wean onto Cyclopeeze by end of the 2nd month

Afterwards: continue Cyclopeeze until the fry are large enough to take "shavings" of frozen mysis

Don't bother with any "mush" solutions as they won't eat it

Raised 2 broods so far; 3rd one is about a month out

I feed live bbs exclisively for the first 3 months, then start to add in some frozen mysis. I have recently found that at about 5 months that they really like frozen blood worms and when they start eating them the grow very quickly.

I mixed baby brine with frozen baby brine within the first 2 weeks to start them onto frozen foods. Then cyclop-eeze, shaved brine to shaved mysis. The faster you get them on frozen the faster they will growout for you.
