care for PE types

I dont know the scientific names for them so I'll just call them PE types because under Zoid they would all be PE's of various colors.

SO can anyone tell me what kind of conditions they prefer?

I'm slowly hoping my one last polyp of RPE lives, I have no clue what it doesnt like or what cause the others to die. Its in med light and med flow. It keeps curling up its skirt on one side so it almost looks like its been eaten. There was/is a baby polyp on the same side where the skirt curls up but I dont think the baby will make it.

I did just pull my carbon and it seems to help, but I still would like to know if they prefer low light or flow?

first of all, in order to determine what is high light vs. low light, what kind of lights do you have? and where are they placed in the tank?

if they are curling up on one side, that almost sounds like they are getting stung on that one side.

a picture would be VERY helpful.

i cant really say my PE types like conditions different than my other zoas. some claim they like stronger light, but i dont think it makes too much of a difference.

ITs closed up completely in this pic but you can see its almost on the bottom of the tank. My tank is just a 24 NC DX with the 50/50's. Doesnt seem like much light, but I can put SPS up near the top and have it color up nicely after coming out of our main tank with MH's.
Its the close polyp in hte middleish of the tank not the polyp on the bottom.

put it up higher, in better flow and light. if that doesnt help, its prob some sort of fungus or something eating it. you could try a lugols iodine dip, not sure if it may help or not.

Just got a better pic of it.
I watch it alot, its skirt is intact it just keeps it curled up for some reason.
I think maybe the baby polyp died or is dieing and it doesnt want to touch it?
ANyone have something like that happen with thier zoos?

These have been such a problem for me since I got them. They've been dipped several times and QT'd twice. This is my lone survivor after all of that.
Could the carbon have killed off the others? they did fine in the QT tank with no carbon.

I have the same problem with the 'PE' types in my tank, which is a 12g with 48w of 50/50. They just don't fare well in my tank, I'm not sure if its the lights, or the flow. Yet I have this one florescent green, I mean glowing, PE that is I swear the size of a nickle, and the only difference I can tell is that it is in quite a bit of flow. Like...its bobbing around in the flow and seems to love it. I've got 5 polyps of RPE that I think are croaking, I can't get them happy. I've got some stardust PEs that are starting to fail too.

ive got some rpe's about a foot under a 400w 20k xm and they are spreading and thriving. they are getting lots of flow from a tunze, so high flow and high light.

how many polyps are they up to now? i wouldnt be surprised if they are growing faster than mine.
