Recently moved a 65 gallon setup into a 105 gallon setup. Well, actually back in May but that is recently in reef tank terms...
We started with all new water, live sand, and Carib Sea Reef Rock in the new setup, moving old inhabitants over after the the tank had been running for a month or so.
It's been a complete disaster. Everything is quite stable between the doser, heater, pumps, etc... All running off the apex so all the parameters are very consistent.Despite that, all my old SPS died, and so did the new stuff I added a couple months in.
LFS and I are scratching our heads.... Poly filter didn't change a weird color. Been doing regular water changes. All the top off is RODI water with is monitored by a TDS meter.
The only big variable is the Life Rock. LPS and SPS are either dying or ****ed. Softies seem to be ok, but seems like you could practically keep softies in a mud puddle if you wanted lol.
Curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar with the Life Rock and SPS/LPS. I'm going to yank all the Life Rock out as a last resort, as the hobby is quickly becoming a painful chore and not the fun relaxing hobby it used to be.
