caribean snorkeling

is it fairly easy to find snorkeling spots without having to use tours in the caribean? Each tour is about USD 70, so would like to use them only as a last resort, going to the following islands, if you know of good spots please let me know!!

In Aruba, your best bet would be Mangel Halto (you can go by yourself, best reef on the island as well), or the Antilla Shipwreck (organized trip, well worth it...amazing site).
