I will be using the DSB Bucket for NNR, but I want sand in my display just for looks. I will have about 3060gph flow total in an 82g display tank.

I'm thinking 3/4" - 1" sand bed (about 40 lbs of sand).

Is CaribSea Oolite or Sugar-Sized a better choice? Sugar-Sized is finer sand.

Also which is "whiter"? I want the whitest sand there is. Hopefully being a very shallow bed, plenty of flow, lots of macro algae in the fuge and a 5lb. DSB bucket I'll be able to keep it clean.

Last question: Should I buy arag-alive? It's only a dollar more. I know they have dormant bacteria that kick in when they have nutrients to eat. That would be a plus.

Thanks!
